Daniel Hilferty is the President and CEO of Independence Blue Cross, one of the nation’s largest health insurers. In February, Hilferty and other healthcare executives met with Trump to discuss health care reform. A week earlier, Hilferty had told the media that Trump’s initial healthcare plan was a “good start.” Hilferty also chairs the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, which contributed the maximum amount of $5,000 to Trump’s transition fundraising committee, Trump for America.
